Virtual Issue on SiC 2020

Online submission extended deadline: November 20, 2020

The Virtual Issue on SiC 2020 aims at providing a comprehensive record of SiC research progress in the year 2020 – the year without SiC conference due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The scope includes all topics of ECSCRM 2020.

In addition, authors are invited to submit tutorial manuscripts on experimental, processing, measurement and theoretical methods considered as standard for SiC and that can be beneficial for the whole community.

To prepare your submission, please follow this template.

All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed.

As a novelty, in order to allow everybody to contribute to the Virtual Issue on SiC 2020, it will be published on arXiv (https://arxiv.org).

arXiv is a well-established free open-access repository for scholarly articles (so-called e-prints) founded in 1991 and operated by Cornell University.

arXiv brings along a number of benefits:

  • Authors of manuscripts keep their copyright.
  • arXiv publications are free, open-access online available and citable.
  • arXiv publications can be re-used for future publications in journals of the author’s choice [1].
  • Even recently published journal papers may be submitted to the Virtual Issue on SiC 2020 [2].

Particularly the re-use possibility allows for both, contributing your recent results to our community’s open-access Virtual Issue on SiC 2020, and publication in a journal of your choice for the accounting in citation statistics – most important for people not only from academia.

[1] Almost all major publishers allow the reuse of content published as preprint on arXiv. This is documented in the publisher copyright policies and self-archiving rules, which can be looked up in the SHERPA/RoMEO database (http://sherpa.ac.uk/romeo/index.php). In particular, plagiarism check software do not take arXiv publications into account.

[2] Most publishers allow uploading preprints of already published papers on arXiv, which are essentially identical with the published version (even post-review preprints). In many cases, even the publisher’s version may be uploaded after some period of embargo. We wish to remind you that authors are responsibles to respect editor embargo period.
